Investigation of the Jet Characteristics and Pulse Mechanism of Self-Excited Oscillating Pulsed Jet Nozzle

Self-excited oscillation pulse jet technology is widely used to clean sediment from oil storage tanks. Its successful application dependent on performance. As the cleaning requirements of industry increase, it necessary optimise structure self-excited pulsed nozzles (SOPJNs) and energy efficiencies. In this study, performance a SOPJN modelled analysed based computational fluid dynamics with consideration large eddy simulation homogeneous cavitation. The modelling results are highly consistent experimental results. effects SOPJN’s inlet diameter, cavity length, wall reflection angle, pressure jet’s peak velocity, frequency, cavitation number were analysed. show that frequency decreases increase diameter d1, D, length L angle α. Optimisation produced high velocity strong optimal nozzle strengthens cavitation, while fluctuates as increases. increases pressure, increasing rate decreases. study can be in design optimisation similar structures for improved cleaning.
